Intuitive Command for Autonomous Security
Quantum Signal AI needed an interface that could give security personnel full control over autonomous vehicle sentries in challenging environments. As lead UX designer, I developed a multi-layered system spanning a real-time tactical display for site-wide monitoring, an operator control unit for direct vehicle teleoperation via gamepad, and integration with modified Polaris Ranger platforms equipped with cameras, audio, and autonomous capabilities. Close collaboration with mechanical engineers and software developers through frequent testing and sprint iterations ensured tight alignment between UI and system architecture. The system was deployed and tested by the US Army in 2016, where personnel achieved full operational proficiency in under two hours, with leadership calling it "the most intuitive interface we've ever used."
